Well, I thought it would be a good idea to chronicle on a blog (blonicle? chrog?) the steps and mis-steps in our journey towards financial independence... and our primary chosen vehicle is real estate. Perhaps others can benefit from our point of view of what has transpired for us over the years, or maybe not... maybe this will just be an exercise in talking to ourselves... no matter, we shall learn much ourselves just laying thoughts etc. out in print.
The journey technically began 13 years ago with a curiosity for buying foreclosures (hey, I can buy a 200k house on the courthouse steps for 300 bucks, right?). A trip to the "courthouse steps" to witness the madness that is a foreclosure auction was surely an eye-opener. Along the way there have been many experiments, books read, disappointments, failures, successes... etc... but the key is to never quit. I know God has called us to real estate because we can't get away from it EVEN IF WE WANTED TO!!! And at times walking away and forgetting the whole thing seemed very appealing... If you can't tell yet, we love real estate... but we are just beginning on our journey. By the Grace of God we will continue down this path to our ultimate calling in full time ministry.
More to come as I just wanted this to be an intro post. Perhaps I'll go in to a bit more history in subsequent posts.
